Dear Sit .
May I submit the attached photograph and copy of " write up " for favour of inclusion in the Corps Museum .
They refer to the presentation , by the City of Portsmouth , of a silver cigarette box to the Corps in commen oration of its 40 year association with the city .
The Curator ,
RAOC Corps Museum , Deepcut , Blackdown .
The Lord Mayor of Portsmouth invited Major General H.J.C. Hildreth , CBE , Major - General C.H.McVittie , CB , CBE , Brigadier R.E.Moss , MVO , OBE , and myself to luncheon in the Guildhall , Portsmouth . After the luncheon we attended a Council meeting during which the abovementioned presentation was made . Col Aspland RASC , OC Troops Portsmouth was also present .
As the Corps Public Relation NCO's camera refused to work I have acquired the attached print from the local press . Prior to leaving the Guildhall I arranged for the NCO to take some group photographs but as the Lord Mayor was still in Council his place was taken by the Lady Mayoress . Should these interest you I will gladly forward one when they come to hand unless , of course , you are already in possession of a print .
