The Royal Logistic Corps Museum holds a number of Vehicle records. Vehicle Record Cards for each vehicle are available to download (pdf.) for £35. This will include all records on that vehicle available in our archives.
These include:
- Vehicle History Cards, Trailers (c.1936-1961)
- Key Cards No.2 (c.1949-1968). These cards contain very brief information, and were the back up copies of the primary key cards. Please note that the allocated user was written in pencil so that it could be erased and replaced each time.
- 'B' Vehicle Data Cards (mid-1960s-1989). The Museum holds approximately 210,000 'B' Vehicle Cards, but unfortunately this is not a complete set for the period. Many of the missing records are Land Rovers.
- Vehicle Key Cards (mid-1960s-1970s). These contain very little data, and are mainly for vehicles used in the BAOR.
- Contract Ledgers (c.1936-1974). These do not show details of individual vehicles are free to view.
Below are examples of the document types you may receive:

Unfortunately our vehicle records are not a complete set. Some of the records may have been lost during their administrative use whilst others may be in other archives.
For 'A' Vehicles please contact the Tank Museum, and 'C' Vehicles the Royal Engineers Museum. Other records can also be found at the RAF Museum and the Royal Navy Library in Portsmouth.
Records between 1982-2013 were held on the MERLIN database, which is now searchable online.
