YEAR
A REPORT of the success of the Donnington Small Bore Rifle
Team appeared in the April GAZETTE.
Our photograph shows the team and some of their trophies
including: The Edmunds Cup; The ICI Challenge Cup; The
National Marksmanship Shield; The UKLF Team Champion-
ship Trophy; The NSRA Regular Army Team Match Award.
CORPS
CRICKET
QUEENS COLLEGE v. RAOC played at Oxford. RAOC two
hundred for five declared. Lieutenant J. Wood eighty seven
retired hurt; W02 Jones forty four; Captain Stone twenty nine.
Queens College eighty one. Captain Stone three for eleven;
Major Shore two for eleven.
RAOC won by one hundred and nineteen runs.
Keble College v. RAOC played at Oxford:
Keble College one hundred and sixty eight: Major Shore
five for twenty one; W 2 Jones three for thirty one.
RAOC one hundred and eight, Lieutenant Colonel Cowell
forty five.
RAOC lost by sixty runs.
RAMC v. RAOC played at Mychett:
RAOC two hundred and forty five for three declared;
Lieutenant Wood one hundred and thirty three not out; Lieu-
tenant Colonel Cowell thirty; Private Zamon twenty nine not
out; Colonel Hopkinson twenty nine.
RAMC seventy three: W02 Jones five for twenty; Lieu-
tenant Colonel Cowell three for twenty three; Major Shore
one for six (in eleven overs); RAOC won by one hundred and
seventy two.

OF
THE
YEAR
VOTED the best RAOC Footballer for the season 1979/80 by
the RAOC Football Association Committee was Sergeant
Geordie Holliday of COD Donnington. This coveted award was
presented by Lieutenant Colonel O'Hare, Chairman of the
RAOC Football Association, at the Corps Six-a-Side Tournament,
held at Donnington.
RAOC UK v. RAOC BAOR played at Deepcut:
RAOC UK seventy nine: Lieutenant Wood nineteen; Lieu-
tenant Colonel Cowell ten.
RAOC BAOR eighty one for three: Major Stone two for
eleven; Staff Sergeant Holmes one for thirty. RAOC BAOR
won by seven wickets.
REME v. RAOC played at Finchampstead:
RAOC one hundred and eighty four for seven declared:
Colonel Hopkinson seventy, three; Lieutenant Oldham twenty
eight; Lieutenant Colonel Cowell twenty three.
REME one hundred and thirty seven for eight (rain stopped
play at 18.42 hours); Major Shore three for thirty eight; Lieu-
tenant Oldham two for twenty eight; Lieutenant Colonel Cowell
one for twenty three. Match abandoned—Match drawn.

skill, ability, competitiveness and above all team spirit, all of
which Sergeant Holliday has shown throughout the season, not
only with the Corps Team, but with the Donnington side. It
was well earned and thoroughly deserved by a player so
dedicated to the game. He has been an inspiration and example
to the whole team. Well done!
