UP UP AND SHRIVENHAM AWAY NO—not the continuing saga of the chopper clobber—but could it be the great lorry snatch? Alas no again, but an excellent photograph by Corporal Pickersgill, a member of the Corps Stores Company, of a Chieftain Engine being hooked onto a Chinook on exercise. The meat in the sandwich is Lance Corporal Shorey—rather him than me. ROWING THE Royal Military College of Science Boat Club is perhaps not well known in Corps circles—yet we are represented. The club has had a very successful season with a record twenty one events entered with Lieutenant Frank Perks our man in one of the eights. Lieutenant Frank Perks in the eight at Reading. APPRENTICE Anyone for squash? THE ANDREWS FAMILY BOWS OUT AFTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY EIGHT YEARS 3 BAD has said farewell to Major Andy Andrews and his wife Doris. This was no ordinary farewell because Andy's departure for civilian life marks the end of the Andrews family service with the Corps. His father and grandfather also served in the Corps and between the three of them, they have amassed the staggering total of one hundred and twenty eight years service. This surely is a record that both he and the Corps, should be extremely proud of. AID BALACLAVA PLATOON of the Apprentices College has just completed a very worthwhile community project. Their task was to lay a cement path for an ex-Corps member, Corporal Smith, who, sadly, recently lost both his legs. Under the watch- ful eye of Corporal Atkins and with financial assistance from the RAOC Aid Society, they have now enabled him to get around his garden in his wheel chair. Corporal Smith completed his service at Blackdown and now lives in Camberley. t 1980 O F F I C E R S Farewell from Bracht. Andy and Doris are retiring to Fleetwood where we hope they will be excedingly happy. All that we can say is "Auf Wiedersehen " to two super people who shall be missed. Our photograph shows Colonel Peter Dodworth presenting Andy with a salver inscribed " Don't worry about a thing Major" when he was formally dined out by his friends and brother officers. — 68 CLUB DINNER THE 1980 Officers Club Dinner will be held in the Head- quarter RAOC Officers Mess, Deepcut, on Friday, 17th October.
