Transcription Private Doyle is in the process along with Sergeant Coleman
of bulling up their files in preparation for a documents inspection.
We expect an exceptional report this year as Private Doyle has
just returned from a documentation course with a ninety two per
cent pass mark.
In our REME Section militarisation of two civilian posts
has increased the size of that little empire even more. Sergeant
Mawdslcy has been 'dragged off to the Sergeants Mess kicking
and screaming with his shining new tapes stuck on with araldite.
Corporal Macpherson has recently arrived from the RA Range
Hebrides and is settling in getting used to the rather different
environment in which we work.
Lance Corporal Nightingales recovery vehicle has now been
officially named Dusty Bin but is referred to as that ***** Christ-
mas tree by most of the Unit as it seems to acquire more new
flashing lights every day.
Corporal Wyllie has recently escaped from our Mocnchen-
gladbach Detachment of Ordnance Depot Antwerp only to be
replaced by a newly arrived Corporal Canale. Don*t worry
Lance Corporal Weber and Privates Baughen. and Williams we
haven't forgotten you.
STORES PLATOON CORPS TROOPS WORKSHOP
THIS month sees the return of W02 McCarrick, Corporal Mayoh
and Private Emmcrton from Northern Ireland; we welcome them
back to the fold and can state categorically that we have missed
them.
The Platoon also welcomes Sergeant and Mrs Kidd and we
wish them a happy stay in Bielefeld. Sergeant Kidd has replaced
Sergeant Render as NCO in charge stores. Congratulations
to Lance Corporal and Mrs Butcher on the birth of their daughter
Sabrina Adair, to Private Dearnley on his upgrading to Supply
Specialist B2 and having passed a Regimental Hygiene course and
to Private Murphy who is now qualified to drive HGV3. Private
Nock has passed B2 Supply Specialist and is now a married man
and we look forward to meeting Mrs Nock when she joins her
husband in Bielefeld soon.
Last, but not least, we learn that we will say farewell to the
OC Captain Parry in October; he will be replaced by Captain
Henty.
CORPS STORES COMPANY
IT has been a reasonably quiet month on the Technical side of
life but we suspect it is the lull before the storm.
On the sporting side of life our tetrathlon team took part in
the 2nd Division event and although they won no prizes they
acquitted themselves well. Private Daly was among the high
scorers in driving (?) a large black Charger over the jumps.
Private Keenan set a cracking pace in the cross country section
coming in fifth in a field of over a hundred. Corporal Van
Kassel is trying to recruit a rugby team closely watched by the
football officer to ensure he doesn't poach.

HEADQUARTERS
I OF E, in their wisdom, decided to inspect the
Headquarters during Exercise Venus Rock—
perhaps it was just as well, they caught us at
our busiest! Like most other establishments we
have had to lose two or three posts and the
downgrading of a couple of others, otherwise we
did not come out of the inspection too badly.
Sergeant Bill Roche has finally received his
MG BGT sports car from the UK and has
returned his trusty steed (WD bicycle) to the QM Stores. This
means his wife Deb is now much happier, she can go shopping
in style and not perched on the crossbar with two NAFFI shop-
ping bags around her neck!
On the 24th August W/Lance Corporal Jacquie Dowsett
married Lance Corporal Geoff Taylor. We offer them both our
heartiest congratulations and best wishes for the future. We
said in our last notes that it must be the dreaded Kokkinelli
that is affecting our WRAC. However the next one planning
to trip down the aisle is Sergeant Ginnette Spicer and she doesn't
drink.
Farewells to W02 Ralph McKee to MOD on promotion—
congratulations, Corporal Tony Crawshaw to I Armoured
Division and W/Corporal Sandy Thorpe to civvy street. Sandy
will be sadly missed in the Cyprus Women's Services Athletics
world.
EPISKOPl
THE rapid change over of Officers has at last stopped and
everyone again seems to know each other.
The CRAOC, Lieutenant Colonel Field is still seeded number
one in the Headquarters RAOC squash ratings, although the Ad-
jutant Captain Walsh, has taken the number two position over
from the Chief Clerk W02 Bragger. Unfortunately the Head-
Second Lieutenant Turner explains the controls to Private Daly at
the 2nd Armoured Division Tetrathlon.
We congratulate Sergeant Bowlby on the award of his Long
Service and Good Conduct Medal. The presentation was made
by the CCRAOC Brigadier Skinner. It was a full morning of
presentations in fact, Corporal Shaw ex-RMP was rebadged, we
welcome him and his family to RAOC. The ceremonies could
not unfortunately be recorded on film as there was a technical
hitch with the camera. Our photographer Corporal Pickersgill
wishes to remain anonymous.
We congratulate on promotion to their respective ranks,
Sergeant Eves and Lance Corporal Saunders.
Welcomes are extended to Corporal and Mrs Frangos, Lance
Corporal and Mrs Grayson, Lance Corporal Amankwa and
Private Burgess.
The RAOC Cyprus Heavyweight Tug-of-War Team. Runners-up
in the AH Island Tug-of-War Championships. Front row: (left to
right): Sergeant Doherty, Staff Sergeant Dickie, Corporal Mitchell,
WOl Edwards. Back row (left to right): W 2 Avery, Sergeant
Dowse, W02 Collins (Coach), Corporal Mayoh, Lance Corporal
Stotr.
