>ttn at tlje <JS> #ffttet£ Club Annual Binner THE 1980 Officers Club Dinner was again held at the Head- quarters Mess in Deepcut. Some two hundred members dined— slightly less than attended last year, perhaps due to current transport difficulties, but an ideal number for the event. The dinner was this year conducted, with great success, by the Mess staff—an arrangement which surely must be continued into future years. In an entertaining and amusing speech the Representative Colonel Commandant, Major General Minogue, reviewed the year's Corps events and presented one of this years Corps Awards for Achievement to Major J. H. Canmer—the other two recipients will receive their awards in BAOR. A review of the circumstances under which the 1980 awards were achieved was given on page 174 of the November issue of THE GAZETTE. As ever there were many friends to meet and old acquain- tances to renew; it was a particularly pleasant, family occasion. The annual dinner is always an enjoyable event—and very good value in these cost conscious times. Next year it will be held on 23rd October and members of the RAOC Officers Club should put it in their diaries now. The venue will again be Headquarters Officers Mess.
