STORES SECTION
ENGINEER REGIMENT WORKSHOP
MUCH has happened and many faces
come and gone to places anew, far to
many to mention. Running the show now
is W02 Wally * Marks not Dollars'
Davies of Headquarters Brunei Garrison
fame. Under his wing he has such talent
as
Sergeant Gordon ' Get Rid of It *
Fellows, Corporal Dougie ' Two Jumps'
Holt, Corporal Barry 'Tanky* Saxby, Lance Corporal Taffy
' Tubs' Davies and Privates Dave * Red o n ' Shaw, Stevie
* Blossom' Bloomfield, Stevie ' The Wizard' Charnock and last
but not least Private Stevie ' Mouse * Moiser. The latter two
borrowed from 5 Field Force Ordnance Company.
Corporal Barry Saxby successfully completed a one hundred
kilometre march in aid of charity. He collected a grand total
of 1,020 Deutschmarks, a noble effort, well done Barry even
though you hated the sight of your boots for at least a week
afterwards.
Corporal Dougie Holt, Privates Dave Shaw and Tan!
Davies are sporting new gongs for doing a grand job in Northern
Ireland, They're not the only ones to boast of extra weight
to carry as W02 Wally Davies and Sergeant Gordon Fellows
have earned their Long Service and Good Conduct Medals,
congratulations to all concerned.
Sergeant Gordon Fellows and Private Stevie Moiser seem
to make it a habit of turning out for the Workshop soccer
team. Sergeant Fellows swears he is going to hang up his
boots after every game, he can't stand the aches and pains.
Congratulations to Corporal Dougie Holt and Lance
Corporal Taffy Davies on promotion to their respective ranks.
87 SUPPLY DEPOT
THE main event of the month was the arrival of Matthew Henry
Burr a brother for James. A Christmas Day baby, he and
mother Carol are both well. James* birthday is on the 29th
February so the local opinion is that Burr No, 3 will arrive at
the next full eclipse of the sun carried by Hayley's Comet.
The redundancy of Sergeant Geordie Harker, the Master
Butcher, and the OC, Major Gary Smith, is considered in some
unkind quarters as mere official recognition of the status quo.
They have been indulging in meaningful discussions of late and
rumour has it that they intend opening a novel leisure centre on
the Al between Newcastle and York. A combined slaughter-
house and betting shop is certainly a new departure in that
field!
Corporal Bob Sidgwick made a profit for the unit on the
sale of our deese or gucks (no one was quite sure what they
were.) On that basis he should soon receive an offer to lead
a team to sell refrigerators to eskimos.
Staff Sergeant Tony Arkle impressed a Work Study Operators
Selection Board. No great surprise—he's a natural talent for
watching others work.
Sergeant Dave Baker attended the BAOR Football Associa-
tion meeting in Berlin (Hmm!) The Depot Superintendent W02
Keith Williams is to instruct skin divers for a month in the
summer—in Cyprus (Hmm!).

less to say, it will not be different next time and the same
plaintive cries wiil again be raised.
Although Headquarters RAOC does not itself, field sports
teams, we contribute right handsomely to (he Divisional Head-
quarters and Signal Regiments teams.
In particular, Lieu-
tenant Colonel David Cornwall and Private Maurice Martin
play rugby and Sergeant Rick Deiamont plays football f 0r
the unit. In keeping with the Division's physical fitness drive,
all in the Headquarters are much given to running, but the only
star in this firmament is the Adjutant, Captain Rick Ginn. who
regularly appears with the Regimental cross country team. There
is much dark muttering about not having enough time for
sport, but it does seem that those who wish to play sport do
so. It is our aim to see that those who do not wish to play
sport also do so.
Finally, we say farewell to W02 Redpath whom we con-
gratulate on both his promotion to WOl and his luck in the
postings lottery, he drew Berlin, Likewise, farewell and con-
gratulations to Private Martin who departs to 2 Armoured
Division Ordnance Company, also on promotion. Their replace-
ments are W02 Danvers and Private Haywood respectively,

STAFF CLERKS
THE first few months in Germany for the Division's staff
clerks have, as predicted, been very busy. One of the biggest
shocks was an exercise just before Christmas, and several sets
of teeth were heard to chatter at a faster rate than any type-
writer has for a long time- 4 This was
one exercise that can

be declared a success; Private Fozzy Walker managed not to
lose his sleeping bag, the Superintendent Clerk, WOl Skenner-
ton, managed not to lose the canister off his gas mask, and
Staff Sergeant Alan Jensen managed not to lose his temper!
The move has brought with it several new faces and some
promotions. We welcome W02 Jed Mead from Headquarters
BAOR, to take over from WOl Bob Edge, as Chief Clerk AQ.
Sergeant Glynn Davies from Porton, Corporal * Patch' Sked
from Northern Ireland and Corporal Neil Cox from 1 (BR)
Corps. Congratulations to Staff Sergeant Mike Dawson, Sergeant
Glynn Davies, Corporal Taff Humphreys and Lance Corporal
Steve Crowhurst on their promotions and to Private Walker on
passing his BII.
