DULMEN CHAMPIONS STORES SUB-DEPOT DULMEN was in a heady state of euphoria after the ecstatic welcome of the Unit cross country team. They returned to a champagne reception along a route lined by Unit personnel applauding the victors. Their latest victory was the Army Minor Units Championship at Aldershot. The team have now swept the board winning every champion- ship they have entered (a total of six). A remarkable achieve- ment in only their second year as a team. They are now very determined to give the overall Army Champions (21 Signal Regiment) a good run for their money next season; incidentally Dulmen beat 21 Signal Regiment in a race held on home ground during a league match earlier this year. Keep going you are being watched. Captain Jelly. Private Turner leads Photos by Lance Corporal Carter. BAOR TABLE TENNIS THE 1978 RAOC BAOR Table Tennis Championships took place in the Gymnasium of 4 Armoured Division Ordnance Com- pany at Elles Barracks, Detmold. Due to the wide publicity given to the event an extremely high standard of Table Tennis was produced by competitors from the length and breadth of BAOR. Special mention goes to the winners of the Doubles com- petition, who were not only part of the host unit, but also carried off the trophy for the second year in succession. Lieutenant Colonel Man, the Chairman of the RAOC Table Tennis, presented the prizes and expressing regret that as a keen Table Tennis player himself he was unable to participate, but wondered in view of the high standard of play if that had not been fortunate! The worthy winners were: — Singles—Winner, Corporal Lindsay, 1 Combat Supplies Battalion; Runner-up, Private Brickstock, Stores Section 4 Armoured Workshop; Third place, Sergeant Vanspall, 1 Com- bat Supplies Battalion.
