(See Training Battalion Gazette Notes). W 2 Alex Rafferty accompanied by his wife, after receiving the British Empire Medal from Major General J . M . Cow, the Director of Army Training. The presentation took place in the former Secretary of State for War's office in the Old W a r Office Building. Alex Rafferty works in M O O ( A T 4 ) co-ordinating the Officers Staff College and promotion examination system. He was awarded the BEM in t h e N e w Year's Honours List in recognition of his hard work, efficiency and initiative in the introduction of the Progressive Qualification Scheme.
