COMPOSITE ORDNANCE DEPOT
"WHERE do I begin?". bt At the top of the page!" says the
boss. Ah well, here we go again,
A talk on the drug problem in Hong Kong took place in
the Unit cinema recently. It wasn't supposed to be funny but,
with the lecturer getting lost in Kowloon, then dropping his
slides, an otherwise dull morning became hilarious, but the
message got across.
Congratulations are in order for our footballers who, despite
stiff opposition, and many enforced absences (get orf), have
emerged champions of the British Forces Hong Kong Minor
Units League Division One. Our congratulations to Head-
quarters British Forces on winning Division Two. Our Second
Eleven's gift of two points must have helped.

Standing: Conductor Penman, Lance Corporal White, SQMS
Dudley, SQMS Campbell, Captain Nunn, Sergeant Vale, Lance
Corporal Li CC, SQMS Kennedy, Lieutenant Colonel Weather-
burn, Kneeling; SQMS Sowerby, Lance Corporal Spencer, Corporal
Keogh, W O l Stoddard, Private Ho C M , Lance Corporal Lee and
Corporal Smith.
The Hong Kong branch of the RAOC Association held their
AGM in the Junior Ranks Club. We were pleased to see so
many of our members from Hong Kong side,
Our first Unit annual orienteering championship was a great
success, however, one wonders if the entries would have been
as numerous had it been a weekend. CSM Dunn is looking
forward to our annual training camp. With an allocation of
two hundred rounds for the Unit we are considering asking
a local clothing shop for royalties, A squad rushing around
shouting 'Bang Bang' must be good advertising!
CONGRATULATIONS to all concerned with the organisation
of the Annual Weekend at Kineton and we trust that Major
Frank Smith is now back to normal after his strenuous efforts
to ensure all was well.
Our twenty seven members who attended, all enjoyed them-
selves immensely especially the renewing 1 of old, old friend-
ships. The question " D o you remember * was heard on all
sides. One of our members had an especially memorable even-
ing on the Saturday—Major Eddie Jennings.
Having been
presented with the Small Bore Trophy once again on behalf
of the Branch, a bouquet of flowers being presented to his
wife, Chris, he then produced the winning ticket for the £10
Premium Bond. (In fairness to Eddie I must stress he does
not write the Shropshire newsletters]).
It was nice to see that despite a 4 Civilian ' posting to Celle
in BAOR, ex Conductor Alan Cleasby was still to the fore at
Kineton having made the journey specifically to keep up his
perfect attendance at the Annual Weekends (as has the writer of
this!). Well done Alan!
