THE SPORTS CUP—CAD Kineton, • • • • T H E RAOC/ACC SKILL-AT-ARMS MEETING THE combined RAOC/ACC Skiil-at-Arms meeting was held at Ash Ranges and again proved to be a resounding success, both from a 'nuts and bolts' angle and from the administrative side. Thrown in at the deep-end were two newcomers to the shooting fraternity namely Major David Wheeler as the newly appointed Secretary—not to be confused with the Competition Secretary—and a new QIC Statistics one Captain Claude Lilley, and both performed their tasks admirably although of the latter it should be said that he had a great deal of assistance from those ' two old hands of this shooting game * WOl Jones and Staff Sergeant Bowker not to mention three very charming WRAC typists who by their presence ensured that the Statistics tent was always well patronised. Major Tom Paterson was again Chief Range Officer and as before put in a lot of hard work and fast movement between ranges to ensure that all went smoothly. The overall administration was the responsibility of the ACC and as in previous years the food was to say the least, exceptional. On the shooting side the team to gain most trophies was again CVHQ but a mention must be given to CAD Bramley for winning the Pusan and Bicester Trophies because these indicate all round team performances. The Individual Rifle Championship was won by Private Weatherby of CVHQ—the first time a volunteer has been * chaired' from the range since competition shooting within the Corps began. Other individual performances of note are Sergeant Wheeler in winning the Bramley Bowl and W02 Watson for winning the Byrne Revolver Cup The list of prize winners is as follows:— THE MULCAHY SHIELD—Training Battalion and Depot 'A*; runner up CAD Bramley e A.* HAROLD PARSONS CUP—Corporal Watson, Training Battalion and Depot; runner-up Staff Sergeant Coates, Training Battalion and Depot.
