YATES writes: — The many friends, past and present, of Lance Corporal Tom Wassail will be shocked and saddened by the news of his tragic death in a traffic acident near Wulfen on Friday, 10th June. One of the most well liked members of the Unit Tom could always ,be relied upon to provide the best results whatever the task or working conditions. Being a keen rugby enthusiast he was a regular member of the successful RAOC Wulfen rugby fifteen. His high level of personal fitness and turn of speed were constantly put to good use on the wing. His talents were not confined totally to rugby football; he was always available to support and play in any Unit sports team when required. As a soldier and as himself, Tom will be sadly missed in the Corps Vehicle Company in the weeks and months to come, To his mother, Mrs Wassail, we offer our sincere condolences and sympathy in her tragic loss. RAOC SKI ASSOCIATION THE RAOC Ski Association has existed for a number of years with the aim of promoting all aspects of ski-ing throughout the Corps. To further this aim, it has been decided to formalize membership of the association on the lines of several of the other organizing bodies of Corps activities. The annual subscription will be £1 which should be sent to the membership secretary Major M, A. Gilbertson along with a completed application form giving number, rank, name, unit, general experience, instructors qualifications and any racing experience. It is hoped in the near future to offer for sale RAOC ski sweaters, hats and badges. Membership Secretary, RAOC Ski Association, DSCS, Computer Centre, Bicester, Oxon, OX6 0LP. 67 — |
