THE

FORCES
CLUB
THE Committee of the Special Forces Club have extended an
invitation to serving and retired ATOs who have carried out
operational EOD duties to become members of the Club.
DGOS has accepted this invitation and has asked DLSA to
publicise and administer the scheme.
As the name implies, membership of the Club is limited
to personnel belonging to special forces and other specially em-
ployed service and police personneL Membership is international
and includes many very interesting characters.
The Club is situated in London (8, Herbert Crescent,
Knightsbridge, behind Harrods) and offers accommodation and
food at very reasonable rates. Current membership charges are
a £10 entrance fee and an annual subscription of £15 for
country members, £21 for town members. Those requiring
further details of the facilities offered by the Club and costs
etc. can obtain information either direct from DLSA or from
any major ammunition establishment, to whom information and
membership application forms have already been sent.
Invitations to join the Club are not lightly given, and the
Club, therefore, wish to limit RAOC membership to those who
have served operationally on EOD duties. The basic criteria
for joining are that the applicant must be a serving or retired
ATO who has dealt with live terrorist bombs. DLSA has under-
taken to vet all applications to ensure that these criteria are
met. Applications to join the Club should, therefore, be sub-
mitted to DLSA, who will then pass them on to the Club after
vetting.
