Transcription Mr Geoffrey Berry who is one of our convoy drivers has
ad some success in the Civil Service Small Bore Rifle Cham-
ionships at Hendon. He achieved a second place in the MOD
cction and was ninth overall in the Civil Service. Mr Berry's
achievement is all the more notable because he has to purchase
all his own ammunition, and apart from a small grant from the
Sports and Social Club has to meet all his own expenses.

AT a very pleasant ceremony on the 1st September, Lieutenant
Colonel R. M. Carruthers, CRAOC South West District, presen-
ted Miss Hilda Lee with The Imperial Service Medal, awarded
for meritorious service, in the presence of her former colleagues.
Miss Lee had recently retired after thirty six years service at
Plymouth where she has been employed as a Fabric Machinist.
This award together with her Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal
completes a memorable career. We wish her every happiness
in her retirement.
Shropshire Branch
OUR President Brigadier Short being ' Over the Seas to Skye'
missed a first class evening on the 6th September at our Cabaret/
Buffet/Dance at which we drew the successful winners in our
Annual St Leger"Draw.
The Shropshire Star gave it full photographic coverage
with one picture the following evening and a full page of
pictures on their Monday Night Social Section. Lorna, lovely
wife of Private Baker charmingly drew the winning tickets and
Mrs Florrie Hogget drew the raffle.
This was our * first' in the new venue at 52 Company
RAOC Drill Hall at Trench an excellent move, the spacious
and modern accommodation allowing us to cater for two
hundred. Regretfully we had to refuse tickets during the
previous week having reached our maximum! The nicest part
of the success was seeing so many of our retired members
returning to the fold with many old acquaintances being renewed.
Our Christmas function will be at the same venue with
change of cabaret, on the 6th December, so mark your diaries I
Before then we will be at the Birmingham Dinner and, of course,
on parade on the 13th November at Donnington Garrison
Church.
