SPSD
THE Depot looks very bright and clean after a face lift by PWD
and a few dashes of red paint from our fire NCO who paints
anything which stands still long enough.
The continuing saga of the Unit boat—rumour has it that
it is being steered to an early launching by a Technical Clerk
turned mechanic,
In the Families Swimming Gala held recently, the SPSD
once again came out on top in the families race with Corporal
Trevor Asquith and his wife and eldest son. Other successes
were in the Campbell and Timms family (offspring that is).

REGULAR
EMPLOYMENT
Corporal and Mrs Asquith with son, winners of the families race.
The Unit fitness sessions are beginning to take their toll.
As more personnel pass the new BFT there are less people for
the Officer Commanding to follow. To add to our physical
ability we now have a basketball court furnished by Corporal
Mick (PWD) Miller. The patent is on sale at a modest price.
On the 28th August we held a families lunch in the SPSD.
This consisted of fun and games for the children and a Bar-b-q
lunch prepared by chefs Timms and Avellano. A rumour going
around at the moment is that next time Staff Sergeant Manny
Avellano Bar-b-q's in his quarter we are all invited.
We say farewell to Mr Brian Smith our once resident
Analyst, and his family. His replacement is Mr Dave Jenkinson
a singly who says he wishes to stay that way and enjoy the
delights of Hong Kong.

WHY
NOT
THE
WRITE
FOR
GAZETTE ?
THE EDITOR welcomes new contributors, it is your
Journal so why not contribute to it?
Articles on any subject will be welcomed; sport,
adventure, work, experience, humour, fictions-even
fantasy. While articles of any length will be considered,
the ideal is in the region of 2,000 words. Scripts should
be double-spaced type written, though manuscript will
be accepted. Pictures should preferably, be black and
white but colour prints will do—some slight loss of
quality occurs.
A reasonable level of controversy is the life-blood
of any Journal—it promotes thought and discussion.
Security however, is always a consideration and, though
the ultimate responsibility rests with the Editor, it should
be borne in mind when touching upon possible sensitive
subjects. As THE GAZETTE is principally a magazine
the purely technical article should be avoided, though
no hard and fast boundary exists.
Why not use THE GAZETTE if you have previously
written for publication, why not try your hand if you
have not.
