PROJECT
THE CUSICHACA Project is a five year archaeological study
of Inca and pre-Inca settlements in the Cusichaca Valley,
Peruvian Central Andes. There will be four major field work
expeditions to the area and the first is in 1978. The main site
covers an Inca hillfort and associated town, both hitherto un-
explored. Reconnaissance in 1977 has also revealed Inca gold
and silver mines in the neighbouring hills.
The Army has been offered the opportunity to provide a
small team to run the administrative side of the Field Work
in Peru (about three months in the summer of 1978). To take
part in further reconnaissance treks for Inca remains in the foot-
hills of the Andes and to climb and walk in the High Andes.
The Army team will consist of ten men. The only specialists
required are two cooks and one medical assistant. Members
may be of any rank and should be physically fit
Volunteers to take part in the Project should apply t o ;
