T1IK CORPS TRAIN
I WONDER how many know that the Corps has a British
Rail dicscl named after it. It is listed as a Class 45 Diesel-
Electric No. D61. It used to run between Sheffield and St
Pancras: Captain D. A. Wright has written in to say that the
number has now been changed to 45-112 and that it is still in
service from the Derby operations area.

The Symposium took the form of a series of presentations,
followed by discussion, by officers from the Ministry of Defence,
HQ BAOR and the Petroleum Centre with additional presenta-
tions given by guest lecturers, including TAVR officers, on
specific subjects, Towards the end of the Symposium, current
fuel handling equipment, operated by RAOC Petroleum
Operators from the Petroleum Centre, was demonstrated.

A WORTHY
CAUSE
LAST MONTH we reported on a Training Centre sponsored
run in aid of the National Kidney Research Fund. The
soldiers who took part were Corporals
Jack Lonegran, Geordie
Tones, Phil Ritchie, Roger Gill, M Legs" Robinson and Jock
Knox, The run was organised by Lieutenant Colonel John
Janes, Commandant of the Employment Training School
The runners completed a total of one hundred miles on a
route which took them through three counties, stopping at all
St George's Taverns^ en route where collections were made.
The final amount raised is still not known but at present is in
excess of £500. Our thanks go to all units and establishments
who sponsored these soldiers, and in particular to Mr Alan
Williamson of the White Hart Inn at Frimley for his consider-
able efforts which helped to make the event such a success.
