Athletics Trophies to add to our collection, with Lance Corporal
Dave Mansfield collecting the 'Athlete of 1981 ' award.
In the absence of the OC, our Admin Officer Lieutenant
lx-s Fagg can frequently been seen 'changing h a t s ' to suit
occasions whilst arranging for a party to visit North Wales for
an adventure training exercise.
We offer our congratulations to Lance Corporals Norris and
Saunders on their respective marriages.

Firstly from 'A' Company, congratulations to
ieutenant Glenn Miller on his recent promotion. The office

gratulations also go to Private Perry on his promotion to
Lance Corporal
Our new Officer Commanding, Major Paul Woodley, was
introduced to the Company during our recent social evening
and, at the same time, we bade farewell to Major Peter Scriven.
The whole Company wish Major Scriven and his family all the
best on posting to Andover, During the evening the Company
was presented with the long awaited 1980 Inter-Company
Challenge Shield by the Commanding Officer, and needless to
•say, we aim to keep the trophy in 1981 as well.
At the recent Battalion Athletics Meeting the Company had
an outstanding win in the tug-of-war competition. The team
consisted of W 2 Flowers, Sergeants Cox, Garland and Unwin,
Lance Corporals Johnson and Snape, and Privates Mackie and
Harris. The team coach, Captain Chris Hillier, shouted the team.
through to a fine victory without conceding a Pull in any round.
We welcome into the Company, Lance Corporal Tumilson
and say farewell to Private Topham on posting.

*B' COMPANY.
This month has been a quiet one in ' B '
Company with most of our efforts being concentrated on
achieving the aims of the COs Training Directive which requires
every man to run three miles at least once per week and to
march five miles in full kit at least once per month. At the
same time we are required to practice our soldiers in survival
drills. The CSM has been very popular on the training runs
and everyone enjoys taking part, especially with the PT at the
end of each run! The soldiers have a name for him which they
use as a term of endearment. Scholars of military sayings will
not need me to explain what the term is, and besides, it is
unlikely that I could spell it.
it was with great pleasure that we learned that our G O Major
Jim Tilling, had been awarded his Honorary Corps Colours
far ski-ing (see page 397 of the May 1981 issue). It is a richly
deserved award for we know of all the hard work he puts
into organising and promoting ski-ing. Our photograph shows
Major Tilling receiving his colours from Major General Stanyer.
Our sporting activities of late have not been as successful
as * B * Company have become accustomed to in the past, in
the space of two days we lost both the tug-of-wur and the
athletics cups. We did however, put up a great performance at
both events and especially in the athletics meeting. Well done
to Headquarters Company on winning the athletics trophy.
Keep it clean as we want it back next year!
