lere to come if you want a wash!
Our intrepid explorer Corporal Walters has just returned
om a months expedition in Morocco where he has been
Electing snakes and other reptiles. Unfortunately he was

80 SUPPLY DEPOT
\S a fairly new arrival in the unit I was idly skimming through
>ast issues of T H E GAZETTE wondering when our last contribution
Lad been, it struck me that an input of some sort from SO was
/ell overdue. k Input' being the in word these days, as during
>ur recent ARU, Colonel Istead very kindly brought our
iupply Etepot Computer ' on line * by inputting the very first
init demand. Colonel Istead is shown in the photograph doing
ust that, being briefed by our OC, Major Charles McGuigan.
["he uniform worn was not specially to frighten the V D U ! That
ittle exercise was followed by real exercise, when Colonel
stead 'supported' by his S02 G I / G 4 (Gen) Major Ozzie
lall led us all. OC included, in an old fashioned BFT in com-
bats, full skeleton order and yes with weapons.
Photo Sergeant
Mead.
We have recently been joined by Sergeant TafE Roberts
who regrets he missed the 'ARU,' to him and his family we
extend a heartfelt welcome.
STORES PLATOON, 4 ARMOURED
WORKSHOP
WITH a successful ARU now behind us, we now face the
exercise season with a cheerful smile.
The first exercise is Mainbrace, the follow up is the Staff
College Demonstration which has to go well because the CO,
Lieutenant Colonel Bonnor Morris, has said it will! We will
be taking only half of the fleet of vehicles to support the

Demo/
The sporting scene is progressing very well. The Platoon
football team, battered 2 AC Support RAOC thirteen to four
and the l Slop Jockeys' (Cooks) nine eight. Lance Corporal
Paul Pennant played in the final of the Craftsman Cup, a pity
the rest did not. Private Roy Banks has progressed to the
RAOC Corps side. On Small Bore, the hot shots are Corporal
Peter Boyce, Privates Spike Asplen, Dave Frost, who are superbly
led by Lance Corporal Sammy Sampson, they are at present
holding first position in their league.
A sad farewell to our gorgeous Major Assemblies Clerk
Mrs Jane Sells who is unfortunately posted to Soest. You will
be missed Jane for your expertise. We also say farewell to
Corporal Bill Cole, to Belize, Lance Corporal Chalkie White to
UK, and welcome to sunny Detmold Sergeant Chris Warne our
new MT Sergeant, Corporal Hudspeth who has arrived from
4 ADOC, and breathed a sigh of relief (sorry CSM, but you
can't have him), and finally to Private Jim Clark who arrived
as a Sup Spec, saw the right—and our lovely lady clerks, and is
now a Sup Clerk.

those well known orienteers Privates Milicevic, Keele, Holmes
and Rankin are going from strength to strength, having now
qualified for the BAOR Orienteering Championships. Our lads*
do not sit around and wait for the Officers and Senior Ranks,
they get up and go! Congratulations to the unit marching team
Staff Sergeant Nolan, Sergeant Dymond. Corporals Kyle and
Ridley and Private Stepin who entered the ' Black Watch ' march
in Holland, smart as buttonsticks (we hear) they ran around
the course and finished a creditable eighth.
On the social side, the wives club held a very successful
' Kaiser China ' evening while the Sergeants Mess had a ship-
wreck evening at which we understand the CSM convinced
everyone his car was not really shipwrecked it had just broken
down.
To all ex ' four rimers,* the trees look beautiful, the camp a
