ON Tuesday the sixteenth of May, Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth II, Col oneHn-Chief of the Royal Army Ordnance
Corps visited her Corps at Bicester on what was a double
royal occasion,
Her Majesty assumed the appointment of Colonel-in-Chief
on the eve of her Coronation in 1953 making this our Jubilee of
that signal honour. Her father, King George V, was our first ^
Colonel-in-Chief when Duke of York. This year also marks
the Diamond Jubilee of the grant of the title Royal to our Corps
in 1918; another significant milestone in our proud history and
one which we intend to mark by a special issue nearer the day
which was in November.
