BIRTHS
SHAKESHAFT.—On 30th March 1978, at the British Hospital
for Mothers and Babies, Woolwich, to Mollie (nee Charnley) and
Sergeant Barry Shakeshaft, a son Colin William, a brother for
Alison.
ENGAGEMENTS
LAUDER—SINCLAIR.—The engagement is announced between
Dr Colin Sinclair, younger son of Mr and Mrs William Sinclair,
33, Kinloch Terrace, Perth and Lois, only daughter of Lieutenant
Colonel and Mrs L B. Lauder, of Burnhead House, Kirtle-
britlge, Dumfriesshire.
THE TONANTI TROPHY—(Presented by Major General
Stanyer to the best RAOC Apprentice Skier):—A/Corporal
Gregor Murdock.
THE GNATCUIK CUP—(Presented by the parents of the late
Private Gnatcuik RAOC);—Lance Corporal Robin Walters,
COD Donnington.
REGULAR ARMY PRIZE WINNERS—RAOC Individual
Champion;—Sergeant Alan Fletcher, AIDU Catterick.
RAOC TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:—CAD Kineton.
ARMY OPEN RACE—RAOC skiers were allowed to compete
in the Army Open Race and the results were:—Best RAOC
Individual: Corporal 'Legs' Dymond, Depot and Training
Battalion; Best RAOC Team: Depot and Training Battalion.

DEATHS
MILLER.—On 2nd May 1978, as the result of a traffic accident
Sergeant R. T. Miller of Ordnance Depot Antwerp.
NAYLOR — On 10th April 1978, at Javea, Spain, Lieutenant
Colonel C. C. F. Naylor MBE (Retd).
PEARCE.—On Saturday 29th April 1978, aged eighty three
years, Major F. G, Pearce (Retd).
THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE have informed us of the
