ford College and we again won L by two goals to one. So now
we can change our title from semi-finalists' to 'finalists,* a
title which is very well deserved and highlights the tremendous
team spirit now inspiring our players.
We congratulate Peter Wells on his selection for the Corps

Central Ordnance Depot Donnington
THIS months notes are centred around a hectic week in Don-
nington. It all started on the Thursday morning, 30th March
1978, with the DGOSs visit. As the Thursday was one of our
twice weekly PT days, the DGOS also took part and ran the three
miles; needless to say there were no absentees. The visit pro-
gramme also included a visit to the Telford Development
Corporation where the DGOS and Commandant had lunch
followed by an aerial tour by helicopter of the Telford New
Town and area.

The Unit BFT training programme is now a way of life ii
Donnington and each Monday and Thursday we have a turn
out of one hundred and thirty plus, a sight that heartens th
Unit Fitness Officer, Major Sid Pincher. The over forties dc
a regular three miles within thirty minutes, so if you're due
for posting to Donnington, start training now.
Our football team is now into the final of the West Mid
lands Inter Service Cup competition and are also playing 1
Signal Regiment in the semi-final of the UK. Army Minor Unit
Cup, Well done lads.

On 4th April, GOC West Midland District, Major General
Downward descended upon us to carry out the FFR inspection.
During his visit he agreed to take part in the next Donnington
Hash* which he did. Have we claimed a new recruit?
The Donnington scramble took place on 1st April in terrible
weather conditions. It was nevertheless enjoyed by all who
took part and a large gathering of spectators. There were

RAOC Association weekend.

on Saturday evening where our guest of honour was The Mayt
of Bicester and Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshir
Councillor John Hollis. Following on tradition, after dinner v
were the guests of 16 Battalion Warrant Officers and Sergean
Mess where much ale sampling went on. Sunday morning sa
the more intrepid setting off by coach and train for a sho
tour of the Depot, by which time the bulk of our guests ha
surfaced for coffee and the showing of The Bicester Civ
Honours Parade film followed by the Church Service and Man.
Past. Our thanks go to Captain Roger Westbrook for his tir
less work in organising the weekend and to Lieutenant Jonath;
Lyddon for the excellent dinner. Next year's get-together u
be at Deepcut.
