y ODWIN.— On 27th August 1981, Lieutenant Colonel P. R.
oodwin of a heart attack. He was serving as a Retired Officer

ESELTINE.—Suddenly on 26th July 1981, at Scarborough, Ex

LANCE CORPORAL ROBERT PRINGLE
IT was with great grief and sadness that we all learned of the
tragic death of Lance Corporal Robert Pringle on 24th August
198).
Robert joined the Corps in November 1975, trained as a
Vehicle Specialist and served in Ashchurch and the Forward
Vehicle Depot Recklinghausen before joining the Ordnance
Depot Northern Ireland in April 19.81.
He became known throughout the Depot and the Vehicle
Specialist world as a Craftsman who took a special pride in his
work, setting the highest standards in everything he did.
His cheerful smile and keen sense of humour will be missed
by all his colleagues who extend their deepest sympathy to his
wife Judith and his children Lisa and Denise.
REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 1981
CORPS Remembrance Sunday will be observed by a parade
service on 8th November on the Blackdown Square, Deepcut,
starting at 10.50 hours. Those attending are requested to be
seated by 10.40 hours. At the end of the service there will
be a march past at the Corps Memorial.
Military personnel should wear No. 2 dress, No. 1 dress
hat with a poppy behind the left hand chin strap button, medals
and gloves. Officers should wear Sam Browne belt without
sword. Greatcoats or British Warms may be worn.
Medals may be worn by those attending in plain clothes.
Transport will be at Brookwood Station at 9.43 hours to meet
travellers on the 09.00 hours train from Waterloo. Transport
will leave for Brookwood Station at 14.30 hours for the return
journey to Waterloo.
Luncheon for Officers past and present and their families
will be served in the Headquarters Officers Mess. The charge
inclusive of a glass of wine will be £2.75 per head; for children
under twelve years of age £1,00, Owing to the numbers involved,
luncheon will only be available for those who apply for it in
advance. A cash-only bar will be operated in the Mess and this may
be used by all Officers and their families attending the parade,
A buffet luncheon for Warrant Officers, Sergeants and Old
Comrades of the Corps and their families will be served in the
Headquarters Sergeants Mess. The charge will be £1.25 per
head; for children under twelve years of age 75p. Again advance
booking is essential.
Applications for luncheon should be sent to The Corps
Secretary, RAOC Secretariat, Deepcut, Camberley, Surrey
GU16 6 RW by not later than 23rd October. They should be
accompanied by cheques or postal orders made payable to
RAOC Consolidated Account (RAOC Association).
THE LORD MAYOR'S
PROCESSION
AS many will know the next Lord Mayor of London, Mr
Alderman Christopher Leaver JP ? was an RAOC Officer. Because
of this he has invited the Corps to participate in his procession
on 14th November 1981.
To mark the occasion a limited number of commemorative
covers are being prepared. They are to be available at the follow-
ing prices:—(a) Signed copies (limited to two hundred) £2. (One
hundred signed by Mr Alderman Christopher Leaver and one
hundred by the DGOS), (b) Unsigned copies (limited to four
thousand nine hundred) £L All covers bear a 14p Prince Charles
and Lady Diana stamp cancelled by a special hand stamp.
Orders for the covers should be sent t o ; Headquarters
RAOC Training Centre (Commemorative Cover), Blackdown
Barracks, Deepcut, Camberley, Surrey GUI6 6RW.
Cheques should be made payable to : Central Bank Account,
Headquarters RAOC Training Centre.
STAFF SERGEANT J. D. ROBINSON
DUE to an unfortunate error Staff Sergeant Robinson's name was
listed in the deaths column of the September GAZETTE. We are
pleased to report that he is fit and well in Hong Kong.
