PROCESSION
AS many will know the next Lord Mayor of London, Sir
Christopher Leaver, was an RAOC Officer.
Because of his connection with RAOC he has invited the
Corps to take part in his procession on the 14th of November.
Our participants will be the Staff Band, a company of marching
troops from the Training Battalion and the Apprentices College,
and two RAOC floats which will depict our task and our
historical connections with the Tower of London, arguably the
first Ordnance Depot. It should be a great day.
However, getting cover of the event into the next RAOC
GAZETTE presents a considerable problem. 1 always aim. to have
Tim GAZETTE published as close to the first of each month as
possible to enable the seven thousand copies printed to be with
our readers, all round the world, well within the month. As
the event is two weeks after the deadline for December copy
and as the December GAZETTE is due at the printers on Monday
16th November, the impossible will just have to be achieved.
Leaving our report until the January 1982 issue would be
too long a gap and we cannot delay the December issue to give
more time since it would be then held up in the Christmas
mail and probably not arrive until readers had left their units
and started their Christmas leave!
Our major problem will be obtaining and editing the photo-
graphs then having the necessary photographic blocks made
but, rest assured, we wilk with the cooperation of our printers,
do our best to be out on time.—Editor.
