place in the RAOC (BAOR) regatta. Lieutenant Jane Fausset is
p \v trying her luck on the big boats at Kiel on a weeks course.
Running: Staff Sergeant Frank Smith (Tufty) for completing
the one hundred kilometre march at Unna with Corporal Billy
Gairns giving the back-up by Land Rover. Frank now has
hundreds of medals and in distance has run across Belgium twice.

Q\7\ TTE) has once again helped Ordnance Services into second
r-v-'ition, in the International Bundeswehr Shoot at Leichlingen.
Our OC Major Ray Vincent and WO I Bob Hubbard are
,o in their last years of service. It seems as soon as one or the
other puts in for a Resettlement course the other follows!
Corporal Graham Moore was very pleased on his return to
89, after his marriage to Susan Hazell as he found out that all
his food charges from 1st July 79 have been claimed back! A
nice wedding present from the Chief Clerk.
Congratulations to Corporal Terry and Patricia Gallagher
on the birth of their son John Patrick.
Sergeant Davy Jones is up to his tricks again, this time
holding a barbecue in his Sergeants Mess bunk, well it got rid
! he mosquitoes.
c
Forward Ordnance Depot Dulmen
CDP 2. Things are getting back to normal in Building 10.
Sergeant Tony Griffiths is back from his UK leave and raring
to go. Staff Sergeant Paul Robinson has a smile on his face—
could be the thought of a new car or perhaps he just needs a
new saddle on his bike. Corporal Alan Simpkins wife has
passed her driving test so there's no keeping them in Dulmen
n w except when he does one of his bar-b-q 1 s and we all know
v en that has taken place by the smell of charcoal. Lance
Corporal Colin Wilks is looking forward to another visit from
the stork and Private Paul Johnson has used up two boxes of
matches keeping his eyes open from the storks last visit. Private
Ray Ward's day doesn't go by without a trip up the stairs to
complete yet another * Notice to Carriers T and Private Chris
Hemms has us all in stitches with his excellent cartoons of the
staff. Private Geordie Houston (pardon Sir) and Private Mark
Jennings are looking forward to their leave and Private
Tankie Townsend is keeping us all in suspense over his engage-
i.-ent
will he or won't he? Private Steve Bourne is still
j .eping the MHE on the road and has us all wondering why he
has that certain smile on his face, something to do with Decem-
ber. WOl Pete Pearson refuses to talk to anyone about fishing.
AH the staff of CDP congratulate Lieutenant Grossman on his
recent engagement, this would have been done earlier but we
were not sure just who he was? Last but not least, we wish
Corporal Ron Gant and family a very enjoyable leave. Next
month, a mention of our civilian staff (multi-national).
ADMIN, Our mythical ex-Guardsman has made his last call at
the PX Store Berlin on the pretext of bringing his family back
to Dulmen (welcome to them). Corporal Noble has just become
a proud and tired father, as has Corporal Smudge Smith. Both
had healthy bouncing boys—congratulations from everyone.
But sadly, however, we must say 'An rcvoir' to Smudge who has
been posted to the Apprentices College.
We would like to welcome Captain Barnham RAPC, our
new Depot Management Accountant (W02 White breathes a
sigh of relief).
W u l f e n Station
f
PRIDE of place this month must go to
the Station Cricket Team who have com-
pleted a notable double in winning the
Rhine Area League and the BAOR Cup
Competition. Having beaten Rheindahlen
Garrison in a nail biting semi, we then
despatched 13 Signal Regiment by only ten
runs in an equally exciting League Final.
Corporals Colin Dickinson and David
Tressler were the match winners in each
The following week, 7 Armoured Workshop were disposed
of in the final of the cup, with Major Steve Goldring being ad-
judged ' M a n of the Match/ A successful cricket dinner was
held with the customary presentation of trophies.
Corporal
Dickinson was presented with the ' Run O u t ' trophy—again—
whilst the skipper was elected 4 Rabbit King/

SSD. After twenty one months of loyal service to the SSD,
1
Ol Paddy Starrett has left for UK to attend his necessary
e~comrnissioning courses at Deepcut.
His contribution to
the SSD and his help and advice to all those who knew him
will be greatly missed and his send-off reflected the esteem in
which he was held. To WOl Freemantle who takes the honoured
position of the 2IC, we extend a very warm welcome and hope
that his family will enjoy the good life that Dulmen has to offer.
New arrivals, apart from Lance Corporal Orrnston's baby
daughter, are Sergeant Woodcock, Lance Corporals Pankhurst,
Clarke and Private Jordan. Welcome to you all.
FVD Senior Ranks got just revenge for last years soccer
defeat at the hands of the Senior Ranks of 154 FAD, FVD
beating 154 this year: eight to one. The match was followed
by a curry lunch for the families in the Sergeants Mess. Even
the rain couldn't stop everyone having a most enjoyable day.
