A UNIQUE CORPS
OCCASION
THE Royal Army Ordnance Corps is extremely proud to be
accorded the honour of participating in the 1981 Lord Mayor's
Procession and of the particular associations wfth the new
Lord Mayor.
Sir Christopher Leaver was called up for
National Service in April 1956 and posted to Hilsea Barracks,
Portsmouth, After two weeks he moved to 1 Training Battalion
Blackdown, and, on commissioning, was posted to 15 Battalion
RAOC at Bicester; he was a keen shot and represented the
Battalion.
He did not forget his experience with the Corps and in-
corporated the RAOC badge into his Badge of Office of Sheriff
of the City of London.
All members of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps present
their compliments and good wishes to the Lord Mayor on this
very special occasion.
