ENGAGEMENT
LOWE—MESSENGER.—The engagement is announced between
Charles Mark Christopher, elder son of Major J. H. C. Lowe
(Retd) and Mrs Lowe of Highfield School, Wandsworth
Common and Oak Cottage, Crowborough, Sussex, and Veronica
Jane, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs B. R, Messenger of Low
Water, Bosham, Sussex.

SOCIETY
THE Committee of Management of the RAOC Aid Society
acknowledge with sincere thanks the following donations totalling
£724.56 received during the quarter ended 30th June 1978.
These donations do not include the personal subscriptions of
serving and retired officers and soldiers.

Building Societies Training College, Sergeants Mess ChilwelJ,
COD Bicester, Ordnance Services Singapore Bursary Fund,
RAOC Association Bicester, St Georges Church Chilwell, Black-

the Holy Trinity Donnington.
The Committee also wish to announce that during the same
quarter, seventy five grants were made totalling £2707.39.
MARRIAGE
TILLING—EVANS.—On 1st July 1978, at Church of Saint
John the Evangelist, Palmers Green, London, Stephen Michael
Tilling, son of Captain and Mrs J. Tilling, 6 Ewart Close,
Bicester, to Miss Lesley Evans, daughter of Mr and Mrs Tudor
Evans of 4, Fox Lane, Palmers Green, London.
DEATHS
LOBLEY — On 31st July 1978, in York District Hospital,
Lieutenant Colonel Fred Lob ley OBE, aged seventy three years,
M A C C O R M I C K . — On 20th July 1978, after a short illness,
Warrant Officer Neil MacCormick of 12, King Alfred Drive,
Didcot, Oxon.
THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE have informed us of the death
of the following Officers, late RAOC

GUNN.—On 14th May 1978, Major C. A. W\ Gunn.

REMEMBRANCE
SUNDAY

CORPS REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY will be observed by a
parade service on. 12th November on the Blackdown Square,
Deepcut, commencing at 10.45 am. Those attending are requested
to be seated by 10.40 am. At the end of the service there will
be a march past at the Corps Memorial.
Military personnel should wear No. 2 dress, No. 1 dress
hat with a poppy behind the left hand chin strap button, medals
and gloves. Officers should wear Sam Browne belt without
sword. Greatcoat or British Warm may be worn.
Medals may be worn by those attending in plain clothes.
Transport will be at Brookwood Station at 9.48 am to meet
travellers on the 9.02 am train from Waterloo. Transport will
leave for Brookwood Station at 2.30 pm for the return journey
to Waterloo.
Luncheon for Officers past and present and their families
will be served in the Headquarters Officers Mess. The charge
inclusive of a glass of wine will be £2.00 per head, children
under twelve years of age £1.00. Owing to the numbers in-
volved, luncheon will only be available to those who apply for
it in advance. A cash-only bar will be operated in the Mess,
and this may be used by all Officers and their families attending
the parade.
A curry lunch for Warrant Officers, Sergeants and Old
Comrades of the Corps and their families will be served in the
Headquarters Sergeants Mess. The charge will be 85p per head.
Again, advance booking is essential.
Applications for luncheon tickets should be sent t o : The
Corps Secretary, RAOC Secretariat, Blackdown Barracks, Deep-
cut, Camberley, Surrey, by not later than 27th October. They
should be
accompanied by cheques or postal orders made pay-
able to ( RAOC Association.'

OFFICERS
CLUB
DINNER 1978
THE 1978 Officers Club Dinner will be held in the Head-
quarter RAOC Officers Mess Deepcut on Friday 13th
October. The dress is dinner jacket. Medals should
not be worn.
Drinks before and after dinner will be on a cash,
basis only and bars will be open from 7 pm. Officers
should assemble at 7.30 pm for dinner at 8 pm. The
price of tickets is £6.50.
As seating is limited to two hundred and fifty, and
to ensure a fair distribution, applications for the
advanced booking of tables cannot be accepted by tele-
phone. Where whole or part bookings of tables are
made, the application will be accepted as a firm book-
inly only when accompanied by the total sum involved
and the rank and name of all the Officers concerned.
Tables seat up to ten persons.
Transport for members of the Officers Club travel-
ling to Deepcut by rail will meet the trains arriving at
Brookwood Station from Waterloo at 18.21, 18.51 and
19.21 hours.
Transport for those returning by train to Waterloo
will leave the Officers Mess promptly at 22.30 for the
22.50 train, and at 23.00 for the 23.20 train.
