flight plan he is interested in is the one from Dortmund to
CVD Ashchurch. it's the only plan I've seen which has g jf
courses marked instead o( Airfields.
Our Master Butcher
Sergeant Roy Lancaster, is also flying shortly, in his case to
Hong Kong on well deserved promotion. To both Ron, Roy and
their respective families we bid bon voyage and best wishes for
the future.
last, and in every way least, I have to mention our 21Q
having transferred into the Corps from the RE ME he can, f
suppose, be forgiven but his diary is that full of leave and
courses for the next six months we are thinking of turning his
office into a storeroom which will at least put it to good use.

Brigadier Whalley operating the Apple N Computer under the
watchful eye of Sergeant Mac Lindley with Brigadier Skinner
looking on.
Major Richard Rhodes, WOl John Davy, W 2 Danny Kelly,
Sergeants Mick Sharkey, Mac Lindley, Lance Corporal Simon
England and Private Paul Seeney forming the C Sups and Mat
Cells.
With the new office block extension having been completed
at long last. Headquarters RAOC is now under one roof and
our thanks go to our civilian members of staff for ensuring that
the move of offices went smoothly.
Finally we say bon voyage to the DOWO, WOl John Davy
on retirement posting to Bicester and to our Chief Clerk WOl
John Malin to Old Dalby. To you both we say a big thank you
for all that you have done for us during your time here in
Korbecke. We extend a warm welcome to Mrs Wendy Paulter
who replaced Mrs Heather Walker.
STORES PLATOON 5 ARMOURED
WORKSHOP
WITH the vehicles not yet washed down and organised chaos
still prevailing, here come the stories from Exercise Red Clay-
more, to rival even those from the News of the World. Red
Claymore was the last exercise in 5 Armoured Workshop for
our OC, Captain Jeremy Parsons who is moving down the road
to Dulmen, so we welcome Captain Jim Wilberforce to his new
job here. Other departures are Sergeant Steve Halliwelland and
Lance Corporal Bruce Norrie while we look forward to seeing
Sergeant Weaver and Private Bibby as their replacements.
Meanwhile back to exercise, and as usual we had our fair
share of incidents, Sergeant Mel Cook learning a couple of new
tricks; like how to be a Recy Mech driving a Crusader (he's
pushing for trade pay now) and how to smoke a pipe at NBC
Red (he only charges DM5.00 for the secret). Private Geordie
Cranny almost ruined his exercise when he threw, accidentally
he claims. Lieutenant Bob Scurfield's boots on the rubbish
truck, fortunately for him they were found in a deep fat
fryer back in camp,
One of the firsts for a iot of people was an M2 bridge river
crossing, it would have gone off smoothly had everyone stayed
awake, but chasing ten tonners around Germany at 03.00 hours
tended to put the dampers on it; there was no real problem
though, they all turned up before ENDEX,
Back on rear party duties, Private Gordon Jones became a
father for the second time with another baby girt to his credit,
congratulations to him and his wife. And
finally
a word
of commiseration for Staff Sergeant Bob Davidson who missed
out on his beloved golf for a whole month—we hope he
recovers soon as he's very touchy at the moment
not a
happy man.
86 SUPPLY
DEPOT
SINCE our last GAZETTE Notes we have had the pleasure of
welcoming our new OC, 2IC and CQMS. We bid a warm
welcome to Major Richard Bird, Lieutenant David Martin and
Staff Sergeant Eric Scott respectively.
At the time of writing the Depot is in the last throes of its
involvement in Exercise Red Claymore. The CQMS is slowly
descending from thirty thousand feet but is encountering un-
expected turbulence on the way down. Our Depot Supt W 2
Ron Anderson, is not worried about turbulence as the only

WOl Burke now takes over the appointment
of DOWO vice WOl Witter.
Exercise Certain Encounter began and finished with the
Headquarters playing enemy (without trying) to great effect
against the US Forces. During the exercise W02 Harry Butcher
was introduced to the mysteries of the talking torch and radio
in the box body office vehicle, with which he confused himself
and everyone else. He claims that on the next exercise he will be
selling tickets to spectators. It seems that since the exercise
everyone is speaking with American accents.
Minor matters which have occurred during the month in-
clude Corporal Hogg's paper posting—is he getting disturbance
allowance? The great escape of the month occurred when W02
Butcher managed to get away from the Mat Office to compete
in the Signals cross country race.
C Sups, the most hard worked department in the Head-
quarters (Major Richard Jarman's quote), have had their normal
hectic period with Major Jarman going to the UK and coming
second in the Corps squash championship and Lance Corporal
Rees going to Spain and coming back: with injuries instead of a
suntan. Congratulations to Sergeant Bob Sacre on exchanging
his new MGB GT for a DM1,000 Beetle fast back.
Alladin heaters are now being inspected in preparation for
winter exercises to come and Magpie is wondering how many
parkas he can wear at once and still have enough to issue out
Lance Corporal Ian Portman is welcomed into the Corps on
transfer from the Royal Artillery.
