- 'nlike our hang gliding experts [see Far the Record). Private
\&s. v tried flying without a kite, when falling off the side of a
432. He landed painfully on his rear and is to be seen hobbling
about with what seems to be a large cushion strapped to his
derrierc and a pained expression on his face. He didn't seem
l D be amused at the offer of a loan of a parachute.

BAOR RHINE AREA WINNERS 1973
Sport has been mainly cricket. The Station team beat
2 ADOC in the DOS BAOR Knock Out Cup by five wickets.
2 ADOC were all out for one hundred and sixteen and Sergeant
Dave Groves of Wulfen Station took three for twenty four.
The Station then went in to bat making one hundred and twenty
for five with Private Danny Donaldson making forty two and
Lieutenant Colonel Bernard Lane twenty eight.
Well sorry to be so short. Have some milk cartons to
defuse! (It is regretted that the photographs arrived too late
for publication—Editor.)

HEADQUARTERS
RAOC
ONE cannot accuse this Headquarters of not being flexible, in
fact we can be compared with a piece of elastic- This statement
is justified because on the late 1 (BR) Corps CPX—namely
1
Summer Sales,' we deployed in an FXT mode, a CPX mode,
managed to man the new Cell in Hannover, left a rear party
in Bielefeld and stilt sent personnel on leave. Not bad going
with an establishment of thirteen military. How do we do it?
Well that's an in-house secret, ask for a posting to Head-
quarters RAOC Corps Troops BAOR, that's our new title from
about now, or sometime—in fact I'm sure you will find out
before we do 1

STORES SUB-DEPOT DULMEN
THE patter of tiny feet was heard reverberating around the
Depot as the Combined Cadet Force from Windsor Boys School
enjoyed their annual summer camp. The culmination of the
t;a r 7ip was a concerted night attack on a platoon deployed from
&i-. Depot. An honourable armistice was signed at the cessation
of hostilities.
There were festive scenes in the Sergeants Mess, as
Major General Stanyer, on his visit to the Depot, presented
Long Service and Good Conduct Medals to WOl Milroy, WOs2
Stokes and Lear, Sergeants Helm, Carroll and White. Festivities
carried on well into the night
The dreaded word BFT has been on every ones lips and
during the month ninety four per cent of those soldiers required
to take the test passed. The ' Brendan Foster * of SSD Dulmen
Corporal Binks recently won the five thousand and ten thousand
sr^tres at the RAOC BAOR championships and to cap a fine
sporting month Sergeant Cullen and Corporal Resales success-
fully completed the Nijmegen marches.
Depot re-organisation is well under way and the Raised
Storage Area Erection Team ably led by Captain J. E. McAlpine-
Dale is performing wonders.

We have had the pleasure of hosting Major General Guy,
Chief of Staff BAOR; he took the opportunity to present Long
Service and Good Conduct Medals to Staff Sergeant Noddy
Nagle and to Sergeant Peter Lee.
Corporal Dodds and the Headquarters RAOC Office Truck on
Exercise Summer Sales.
We bid a fond farewell to Captain David Griffiths who was
posted to Headquarters 1 (BR) Corps and stays in BAOR—
lucky him and to W 2 Pat O'Neill.
We welcome to our abode Captain Terry Wood, the new
Adjutant and W02 Ray Trebble, WOIC Control, and hope they
enjoy their tours and adapt to the new environment.
STORES PLATOON CORPS TROOPS
WORKSHOP
THE highlight of the month has been the return of the RAOC
personnel who were with the Northern Ireland Roulement
Workshop. These were; —Captain Lennox MacEwan, Corporals
Taff Blyth and Nick Nicholls, Lance Corporals 'Brum* Evans,
and Mick Leigh, Privates Bill Ryan, Dave Stonham and Boy
David. Welcome back lads, we're sure your war stories should
keep us going for the next ten exercises.
W 2 Hinson and Sergeant Render have been on holiday
to Italy this year, we who were left behind fancied a game
of follow the leader but we couldn't decide who H E was, so
we scrapped that idea!!
Congratulations to Mrs Jill Leefarr (wife of our intrepid
Terry) who passed the BFG driving test; trouble is, Terry's try-
ing to get the car backloaded to Yokohama for the spare parts
most of the time so she'll be lucky to get a drive.
Hot news from the press is that Private Pogo Pratt has
passed HGV2, and Privates Daddy Murphy and * Volkswagen
Cruncher' MacGregor are slowly going dizzy round the camp
circuit, one* more lads!
Finally we are undergoing rugby and volleyball training
for the Unit potted sports under the eagle eyes of Corporal John
Sim and Private Jock Bruce. Casualties to date are Mick
Wilson and Steve Butcher,
