The Headquarters, with elements of all our Units, deployed last month for an overnight Limited war CPX. It was the first of its kind for quite some time so the idea was to thoroughly test the staff, the procedures and equipment All in all every- thing went quite well, so well in fact that we've been told we can have another one next month. I told them not to be so enthusiastic on the debrief! On the sports field RAOC is keeping well to the fore; Captain Ron Gray is a member of the Flying Kukris, a New Territories Joint Services Rugby Club, Sergeant Les Arnold and Corporal Kevin Mills are waiting to see if they are to play soccer for the Headquarters and Signal Squadron soccer team KBR) Corps Combat SuppU eft Battalia? (a) Denotes posting in next higher rank, and just about all RAOC personnel are involved at some level on the Headquarters squash ladder run by Sergeant Arnold. Pride of place in sport this month must go to Corporal Swiba Lepcha, our Gurkha clerk who took part in a Tai Kwon Do competition and beat all comers to take first prize, very well done. As the second BFT draws near we are all beginning to benefit from the * sessions * carried out under the active super- vision of the chief, W02 Pete ' Where were you this morning Sir' Simmons. Sergeant Fyzool, S03 Ord's clerk, is on leave in Penang at the moment getting a panic tan before going to Antwerp early next year. Staff Sergeant Tex Thompson is still on the golf course and Corporal Pete Daffern has finally received his posting order to 39 Infantry Brigade, Lisbum. We haven't told him yet that it isn't in Portugal- Did you know that: A clerk is one who knows a great deal about little and goes on learning more and more about Jess and less, until he finally knows everything about practically nothing. Whereas a Staff Officer is one who knows very little about a great deal, and goes on learning less and less about more and more, until he finally knows practically nothing about everything.
