A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM
THE REPRESENTATIVE COLONEL COMMANDANT
To all Past and Present members of the Corps, to all Civilian Staffs and to your families, my
wife and I send Christmas Greetings together with our best wishes to you all for 1979.
J. T.
U*,'
STANYER,
Major General.
A CHRISTMAS MESSACE FROM
THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF ORDNANCE SERVICES
By any standards 1978 has been another busy year for the Corps. At all levels and in all
Units we have been innovating, planning, reorganizing, consolidating and just plain working
at keeping our * customers * supplied. We have had to overcome many problems, most of
them beyond our control.
The highlight of the year was inevitably the visit of Her Majesty The Queen, our
Colonel-in-Chief, to the Corps on 16th May. The Queen's great interest in all she saw and
in all the people whom she met and talked with, made it a wonderful day for us all. The
Corps can be grateful to the staff at COD Bicester for their exemplary work as hosts for the
day, as well as to those whose departments or displays so well met our aim of showing to Her
Majesty " the Corps at work."
To all in the Corps and in Army Ordnance Services who have maintained and enhanced
our reputation in 1978 and to their families, my wife and I send our good wishes for a happy
and peaceful Christmas and a successful New Year.
MICHAEL CALLAN, Major General.
