Transcription Rumney MBE, on receiving his Long Service and Good Con-
duct Medal and W 2 Barry Stevens and Staff Sergeant Jim
Munday on their substantive promotions.
Farewells must alas be said to Major David Hatton and
his wife Jenny. According to the CO, David had to go,
having occupied every appointment in the unit except one and
the CO refuses to move. There is now a vacancy in the Choral
Society which will be difficult to fill.
We also say farewell to Staff Sergeant Pete Le Quelenec
who starts a new career as A/W02 of 1 Armoured Division
Ordnance Company, Staff Sergeant John Nolan, Sergeant Jim
Beattie, and those condemned to return to UK, W 2 Terry
Kersley, Corporal Alf Barnett and Private Paddy Kirkwood.
We wish them all the best in their new units and thank them
all for their support at Viersen.
We welcome into the unit Sergeant Keith Straughier and
his wife Jennifer and hope they enjoy their tour.
Forward Ordnance Depot Dulmen
STORES SUB-DEPOT. As in previous editions we have to
report the sad news of saying farewell to well liked members
of our team. These being Corporal Brum Harrison, Lance
Corporal Dave Pinch and Private Nev Todd. However, their
replacements have arrived and we say welcome to Corporal Geoff
Wilkes, Lance Corporal Roly Kay and Private Graham Ingham.
We also offer our congratulations on the following promotions:
Corporal Jock Simpson (at last), Corporal Geoff Wilkes and
Lance Corporal Neil Gill.
The OC Major Wright, has promised us a ' nice easy year
with no major re-orgs or vast inter-building stock movements.'
Nobody believes him of course; our guess is that there will be
more FCP's, CRP's and CCP's to come, just to keep us on our
toes. If nobody knows what these abbreviations mean, come
and join us in the SSD at Dulmen, it's all happening here!
MOBILISATION
STORES SUB-DEPOT. As we carry on
regardless with the aftermath of Crusader we will be without
(Mr Crusader) W02 Daunt, who has left us on posting to U K ;
also leaving is Private Rocky Lawrence, the stalwart of Shed 12.
We welcome to the Shed W02 Les Sandison.
C and A say farewell to Sergeant Jack Ferris who is
posted to UK.
LOANS AND REPAIR SUB-DEPOT. Firstly we bid welcome
to Private Andy Murray from the Apprentices College and also
Corporal Taff Woolley, who returned from sunny Belize com-
plete with new spouse.
Corporal Woolley wasn't back five minutes when he earned
his second stripe. Also included in the 'ARU Honours List'
for promotions were Lance Corporal Jonah Jones and Corporal
Steve Edge, who is now of equal rank to his wife. Last but not
least to be promoted was Lance Corporal Murray to substantive
rank after two years of acting. His boss, Staff Sergeant Bob
Ward, says that he still is?
Sergeant Nobby Clark has received his posting order for
Blackdown. He has already trimmed his peak and can be seen
bulling his boots daily. Viewings by appointment only.
TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORT.
After many hours of hard
work MT once again had another very successful PRE inspection.
(They're only drivers you know!). W02 Simpson and his merry
band took turns to play with the new Snow Plough; also the
snow only lasted for one day! Farewell and good luck to Private
Jenkerson-Kenshole on his tour in Northern Ireland with the
EOD Team. Welcomes to Corporal Marshall REME, commonly
known as Howhe (did this and that) and to Lance Corporal
Gant to CDP 2.
ADMINISTRATION.
We have had several comings and goings
in the Orderly Room. Lance Corporal Norman Davies has left
us for Northern Ireland, as has Sergeant Pip Pittaway of the
Training Staff. Private Shep Shepherd has gone to the ' Legal
Eagles' at Rheindahlen.
We welcome Sergeant Jim Starkey, Lance Corporal Nick
Noble and Privates Andy Maxwell and Morph Mumford, all
from Blackdown. Private Tim Millward is now of B2 standard
and keeps mumbling about ' prom . . . promo . . .' (We don't
understand what he means). Lance Corporal John Chrimes has
just returned from leave to find himself in another job—serves
him right for going on leave. The Chief Clerk, Staff Sergeant
Colin Dewsbury and ORS Sergeant Nigel Radford can't even
get a sports afternoon!
Finally we say farewell to Corporal Steve Geary on posting
to Blackdown.

already preparing for Nijmegen in July,

and our gymnasium is almost fixed up—
so we could be starting our badminton championships soon.
At last BFBS television has arrived and for the first couple
of nights the Messes and Clubs were bare. But the regulars are
now back in their favourite seats and everyone is wondering
just what all the fuss was about!
154 FORWARD AMMUNITION
DEPOT
THE month was notable for the arrival of two black clouds
over the unit.
The first appeared over the new Sergeants Mess wherein
lives a host of temporarily depressed citizens, led by Senior
Member WOl ' J C Crawford, all of whom have given up
smoking.
Already the SSM Todd Slaughter, with taut waistband
and an even more elastic temper, has left their ranks, much to
the delight of certain wayward soldiers.
The other cloud hangs over the Control Office where the
beer cans made their final appearance on the departure of Major
Wes Thomas for Devizes. Will they ever re-appear? Major
Brian Mills, the'new ASO thinks not but how else will Jock,
Tram and ' Briggsy' spend their days?
The Thomas convoy departed eventually in spite of snow,
fog and a ferry strike leaving behind memories of rugby matches
sometimes played, broken legs, 'hashes' to the local gastatte
even the odd visit to the Depot. Good luck ' Wes.'
Other notable departures were Sergeant Frank ' n o t in the
Pay Office ' Grech on posting to the Household Cavalry and
Corporal Frank Crowther, barman of note and manager of
various ' Misfit Teams.' He leaves on discharge to the German
economy.
We welcome from Tidworth, Sergeant Martin Winter as the
military accountant and, from the Apprentices College, Privates
Causer, Collins and Gawthorpe. Whilst these gentlemen are
much apreciated what we really need of course are two open-
ing batsmen and a spinner? Records please note!

HEADQUARTERS
RAOC
APART from the change to NATO appointment titles, the most
notable news this month is that Staff Sergeant Keith Honeysett
is back. Even more notable for Mrs Lillian Honeysett of course
since Keith has been away in Sonthofen (Bavarian Alps for those
who do not know Germany) since October including Christmas.
