Transcription NO. 1 SECTION. W02 Roger Hubbard the section new SAT
has made his presence felt. The ' Kremlin' is now adopting a
more homely atmosphere, the only thing that seems to be
missing is tea and toast in bed at reveille.
In order to ' get some in ' Staff Sergeant Richard Green
was permitted to take over W02 Hubbard's team for the day.
On his first task he attended a multi-bomb attack on a hotel in
Belfast, during which he managed to incinerate the Wheel-
barrow. Corporal Paul Markwick his No. 2 and guardian of
the said Wheelbarrow having completed thirty six successful
tasks with the equipment without getting it scratched, quite
rightly felt that the officious operator should have offered him-
self up for ' Suttee.' Sergeant Fred Basset found himself on
his first task crawling through the wreckage of a bombed rail-
way carriage. When a fluorescent tube exploded in protest at
his passing, Fred found himself speechless—amongst other
things.
week holiday for two on the Costa Brava. Very nice after a
tour over here! The CLF Major General Glover, visited the
Section and was surprised to find everyone on parade in the
Mechanised Transport shed. The General was invited to present
Sergeant Keith Walker the resident storekeeper, with his Long
Service and Good Conduct Medal. Captain Phil Sharman has
kept his promise and organised the complete refurbishment of
the bar, lounge and rest area, it all looks very palatial. Phil
has now handed over to Captain ' Pete the Kiwi' O'Brien.

We all wish them both every happiness
for the future.
WOl Hainey is preparing for his
final posting to civilian life as a buyer/
salesman dealing with army surplus. I
suspect we will be seeing more of him in
the future than in the past. He does
quote a good price for army boot laces!

We also have the honour of having on our posted strength
the most senior and also oldest RAOC Regular Major in the

look forward to his fifty fifth birthday celebration which we are
