SQUASH
THE annual Corps squash competition was held at Rheindahlcn
when, in spite of the many commitments of RAOC Units, a very
successful tournament took place. The three regular RAOC
members of the full BAOR side rested on their laurels (or
crutches in one case) but the strength of RAOC squash in
BAOR is such that the standard of play even without them
was remarkably high.
Sergeant Ryder of Headquarters BAOR won the open
competition after excellent five set matches in both the semi-
final against W02 Patchitt of 1st Armoured Division Ordnance
Company and final against a previous winner Sergeant Mont-
gomery of 4th Armoured Division Ordnance Company. Sergeant
Montgomery did not leave empty handed however, he combined
with Major Jarman and Corporal Bennett to win the team
knockout cup for RAOC 4th Armoured Division.
Team Competition: Winner RAOC 4th Armoured Division;
Runners-up RAOC Corps Troops.
Individual Open: Winner Sergeant Ryder, Headquarters
BAOR (Man IDP); Runner-up Sergeant Montgomery, 4th
Armoured Division Ordnance Company.
Individual Novice: Winner Private Bellerby, 2nd Armoured
Division Ordnance Company; Runner-up Sergeant Dean, 2nd
Armoured Division Ordnance Company.
Plate Competition: Winner Major Walker, 85 Supply Depot

PRESENTATION
MAJOR GENERAL P. J. O'B. MINOGUE, the Representative
Colonel Commandant, recently presented a RAOC Royal Jubilee
Bowl to the Malaysian Ordnance Corps. The bowl was one of
those commissioned to commemorate Her Majesty The Queen's
Silver Jubilee as our Coloncl-in-Chicf and the Diamond Jubilee
of the grant to the Corps of the title ' Royal '—both of which
occurred in 1978.
This was the last to be presented to Commonwealth Ord-
nance Corps to which we arc affiliated. It was the first oppor-
tunity we have had to make the presentation and it was
accepted by Lieutenant Colonel Mustapha Mansor of the
Malaysian Ordnance Corps during a visit to DSCS Bicester.
The photograph was taken in the Graven Hill Officers
Mess.
