Edwards COD Donnington HEADQUARTERS BAOR STAFF WIN BAOR MARATHON «r IN the first RAOC BAOR Marathon held at FOD Dulmen the first team home was the Headquarters BAOR 'A' Team with the Headquarters ' B ' Team coming in fourth place. First home for the 'A' Team and in second place overall was Mr (lately Corporal) Reg Black who ran the race in a time of 2 hours 43 minutes. Next home in fourth and fifth positions were SQMS Dave O'Brien and Staff Sergeant Dave Latham both experienced marathon runners who both achieved well deserved personal best times of 2 hours 56.55 and 2 hours 57.18 respectively. The fourth member of the team in eleventh place overall and running his first marathon was Major Colin Robinson who achieved a very respectable 3 hours 13.06. The ' B ' Team was not so far adrift with Sergeant Pete Shimmon coming in just behind Major Robinson in twelfth place in 3 hours 13.51, followed by SQMS Al Jensen in eighteenth place in 3 hours 24.33, a particularly good performance as SQMS Jensen suffered from severe stomach cramp during the majority of the race. Not far behind him in twenty fourth place was Sergeant Kev McKearnan in 3 hours 30.01 and last of the BAOR runners in forty fifth place was Sergeant John Edwards with 3 hours 55.14 to his credit. So a very good performance from the staff of Headquarters BAOR in the first RAOC BAOR marathon, a very well organised affair by FOD Dulmen which hopefully will become an annual event. — 42 •WDHMICE SERVICES ^ * m °'- (f ™ 83 ^ SQUASH The team which played one thousand and seventy six games.
