2 2 Ordnance Company RAOC (V)
WHO is this new 22 Ordnance Company who we have not
heard of before! Wei], on the 1st ApriJ 1983, 82 Ordnance
Company was retitled 22 Ordnance Company. In the past six
years the Company has changed its title four times: 50 Ord
Sup Battalion; 8 Field Force Ord Company; 82 Ord Company
and now 22 Ord Company. With the new title we have gained
a new role. We are now the 2nd Infantry Division Combat
Supply Company with a bigger establishment and a more interest-
ing role, with at long last, a chance to train in BAOR!
In common with other TA Companies we have been busy
on Field Training Exercises both Military and Trade Training.
This year we are looking forward to our annual camp which
will be held in August at Barry Buddon. During Annual
Camp we are hoping to carry out Military and Adventurous
Training.
One of the highlights of the past few weeks was the
presentation of the Lord-Lieutenant's Certificate to Staff Sergeant
Freddie Nash by Colonel The Right Honourable The Lord
Gisborough. The Lord-Lieutenant's Certificate is presented for
long and loyal service in the Reserve Forces. Staff Sergeant
Nash has served the Territorial Army in the Corps for twenty
one years. In addition to being a Supply Controller he is a
First Aid and Trade Instructor and he also does all the Recruit
Documentation. In fact, every member of the unit who has
joined since 1962 has passed through the ' h a n d s ' of Freddie
Nash. Although he devotes much of his leisure time to the
TA he still finds time to be a ' family, man ' raising two young

sons. He is also a member of the Middlesbrough Salvation
Army Band.
By the time these unit notes are published we will probably
have moved to our new 'purpose built' TA Centre in Coulby
Newham on the outskirts of Middlesbrough.
May we extend a welcome to any member of the Corps,
who is visiting Cleveland, to call in and see us and if you
are leaving the Regular Corps and looking for a worthwhile
hobby we may have a vacancy for you.
