16 Battalion RAOC who in their task as assistant marshall did
very well.
Teams and individuals entered from Bicester, Donnington

of operating which was displayed throughout the day.

JUNIOR
SWIMMING
CHAMPIONSHIPS
IN a very closely swum contest in the Army Minor Unit
Swimming Championships held recently in Bramcote, Warwick-
shire, the RAOC Apprentices College swimming team emerged
victorious over the Junior Parachute Company and the RAMC
Apprentices College to take the title for the second successive
year.
Swimming in the College had not been one of the unit's
fortes since the late 1960's and early 1970's when the Army
squad frequently boasted an RAOC cap badge in its ranks, but
with the arrival of QMSI Ted Martin APTC in the College just
over fifteen months ago things changed.
The College team, strengthened a little by three members
of the Permanent Staff, went on to become runners-up to the
RAOC Depot in the Corps Championships. A special mention
must go to Apprentice Private Fuller who is rapidly proving
to be one of the most outstanding sportsmen in the College.
Apprentice Private Fuller, apart from being an outstanding
runner went on to win four Army Junior Individual titles, was
selected to swim for the Junior Army in the Junior Inter
Services and was a member of the Army Junior Water Polo
team that won the Inter Services Championships. He is an
above-average team games player and even has time to be a
member of the Corps of Drums—well done A/Private Fuller!
