I h i s Book t e l l s the story of the
Poyal Amy Service Corps and l a t e r
the Royal Corps of Transport in the
years following the end of the
Seccnd World War up t o the present
day.
I t i s a story which follows the
Corps from Buller Barracks i n
Aldershot t o Korea, from Kenya t o
Aden and the Radfan, through
Malaysia t o the Middle East,
Iceland, Norway and B e l i z e , from
Buckingham Palace t o the s t r e e t s
of rforthem I r e l a n d , and more
recently t o the Falkland Islands
in the South A t l a n t i c .
A story
which traces the many tasks
undertaken by the RASC throughout
the world from 1945 t o 1965, t o the
formation and development of the
RCT and i t s achievements t o d a t e .
In the RCT i s embodied a l l the
t r a d i t i o n and dedication t o
service t h a t distinguished the
K\SC. Althoue£i i n a sense t h i s i s
the story of two Corps, the coram
thread t h a t binds the two i s the
very b e s t c h a r a c t e r i s t i c s t h a t
have been passed fron father t o
son.
In presenting t h i s s t o r y we
rertind the younger generation of
the achievements of the RASC and
we hope t h a t the older generation
who served with and loved the
PASC w i l l feel proud t h a t t h e i r
fine t r a d i t i o n s are being continued.
