MR C. E. JACKSON
LIEUTENANT COLONEL D. J. S. MacCOLL writes: —
I very much regret to report the sudden death of Ted
Jackson (Stores Officer Grade B) after a very short illness in
the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, on Friday, 21st October.
Ted has served RAOC since early 1943. In 1947 he was
discharged from war time service as a Corporal when working
in the MT Sub-Depot at Bicester and immediately rejoined the
staff as a civilian. Since then he has served COD Bicester
continuously and most conscientiously in most departments of
the Stores Branch. His untimely death came at the age of fifty
eight years while filling the appointment of OIC Group 7 in
2 Sub-Depot.
He will be remembered by many as an excellent storeman, a
caring manager and a good friend. In tribute to his popularity
his friends and colleagues filled Piddington Church to capacity
at his funeral service on 27th October. On behalf of all mem-
bers of staff military and civilian, past and present, who knew
Ted, sincere condolences are extended to Mrs Connie Jackson
and the family in their tragic loss.
