Wagoner 1086 Richard Baker Davison, M. M.
born 1897 at Bridlington. He worked as a
farm lad at Kilham West Field and joined the
Wagoners Reserve at Driffield 4th]uly 1914,
beingattestedby Copt. H. E. Sykes. After
mobilization he joined theA.S.C.asa driver
and saw service in France throughout the war.
On 22nd August 1918, Wagoner Davison
was awarded the Military Medal for saving the
lives of four of his comrades in action on the
J hh of that month.

The award certificate for Wagoner Davison's Military Medal. The Military Medal was institu
by Royal Warrant of 25th March 1916, and was awarded to ranks below iJeutenantfor acts of
bravery. The medalmade of solid silver, has on the obverse the effigy of George V in field-mar
uniform and on the reverse side the legend, FOR BRAVERY IN THE FIELD, surrounded by a laur
wreath, surmounted by the royal cypher and crown. The ribbon has dark blue edges, and five e
stripes in the centre, three white and two red. The receipiants number, name and regiment or
was impressed around the edge of the medal in narrow sans serif capitals.
