V - N 24 square miniature camera
A reflex camera of the one - lens Exakta - Korelle type .
Picture - size is 21 " square , either on 120 roll - film ( 12 exposures ) or on 32 " x 2 " plates or sheet - film .
( a ) 3 " f / 3.5 to f / 32 ; ( b ) 11 Tele f / 5.5 to f / 32 .
Side - to - side focal - plane shutter ; speeds 1/500 , 1/200 , 1/100 , 1/75 , 1/50 , 1/25 , 1/10 , 1/5 , , 1 and 2 seconds .
Reflex ( mirror & focussing screen ) , finder fitted with magnifier ( see photos 2 and 5 ) , metal reflector for eye - level work ( see photo 5 ) , and open - frame finder adapted to both lenses ( see photos 3 and 4 ) ; the whole finder unit is collapsable
for transport .
11
A small supplementary mirror is also fitted ( see " A " on photo 1 ) by means of which the figures of the focussing scale on the 32 " lens ( engraved inverted for this purpose ) can be read when the camera is being used at eye - level , without reference to the front of the camera
To allow for the difference in focal register of plates and roll - film , a milled ring is fitted to the front of the camera ( " B " on photo 1 ) ; when turned to one extreme position of its travel , this ring brings lens and ground - glass focussing - screen into register for plates ; at the other extreme position , lens and screen are inregister for roll - films . Thus , when using either roll - films , plates or sheet - film , the reflex focussing - screen can be used with accuracy .
Film and shutter are wound up by winder " C " ( photo 2 ) ; a counter " D " shows how many exposures have been made ; this counter . can be re - set to zero by means of trigger " E " . Shutter speeds are controlled by dials " F " and " G " ( photo 1 ) ; " H " in photo 1 is the shutter - release , into which a flexible cable can be screwed ; pressure on " H " first raises the reflex focussing - mirror , which is re - lowered into viewing position by raising lever " J " .
Photo 5 shows the camera fitted with its roll - film back ; slight pressure at " K " allows retaining - bar " M " to be raised , and back - plate " L " to be removed . Photo 6 shows double plate - slide in position .
When the tele - lens is fitted , point of balance of the camera is at " N " ( photo 3 ) , where a separate tripod - bush is fitted .
As the focussing - ring on the tele - lens is rotated , a spring - stop gives an easily - felt click as each marked focal - distance is brought to focus , again allowing the operator to focus without direct reference to the front of the camera .
Both lenses are bayonet - fitting , correct position for inserting lenses into camera being indicated by a small red dot on the camera - body and on each lens .
A filter - retaining ring is fitted to each lens between the lens - front and the hood .
A Proxar lens is supplied , which fits on the front of the 3 " lens to allow copying of documents etc.
Weight of camera fitted with 3 " lens is 3 lbs : with 11 lens , 4 lbs .
