For Dick Whittington he has a cast of 50 drawn from the military and civilians at the De pot , plus others outside including children from Five Acres primary school , Ambrosden , and a tap - dance club run in Bicester by Jenny Watts . Lieut Col Newton's wife Barbara has made around 130 costumes and also plays Dick Whittington . Barbara Newton ( Dick ) and Capt Jackie Gavin ( Alice ) AND MID - OXON CHRONICLE INCORPORATING THE BICESTER HERALD AND THE BRACKLEY OBSERVER The first pantomime at Bicester Ordnance Depot for around 20 years already looks like being a sell - out . Tickets have been go ing well for Dick Whit tington at the Garrison Theatre , Graven Hill , Bi cester , on January 28 , 29 and 30 . Previous shows were put on by the now de funct Garrison Theatre Club . The producer , director and author , Lieut Col David Newton , said : " We have already sold between 700 and 800 tickets and have almost broken even . We have plenty of room in the theatre so can always put in extra seats . " Rehearsals for the show began in October after he was given the go - ahead by Brigadier Kevin Goad , Garri son / Depot commander .
