Garrison Fete will boost charities funds. Fete was held by 16 Battalion RAOC at the end of the week of celebrations for the 50th Anniversary of the Bicester Depot.

Garrison fete
will boost charities ' funds

Civilians and soldiers employed at Bicester Central Ordnance Depot were given the after noon off so they could support fete .
The fete was the final event in the week - long cele brations of the 50th anniversary of Bicester Depot .
" It was the first garrison fete for five years and held specifically for the anniversary , " said Col Mal colm Hill , Garrison adjutant .
The anniversary fete was in aid of Bicester Com munity Hospital , Bardwell School , Bicester , and St Edburg House old people's home , Bicester .
Soldiers with 16 Battalion of the Royal Army Ord nance Corps had also staged a 24 - hour sportathon earlier in the week for the same three causes .
Employees in the depot planning branch also fin ished a 75 - mile sponsored walk at the fete .
The fete began with a fly past by four F - 111 air craft from the USAF base at Upper Heyford .
It included displays by the MoD police dog team , the RAOC Cannonballs free fall parachute team , Bi cester Crime Prevention Panel , Bicester centre of the Red Cross , the staff band of the RAOC , a poster competition by pupils of Five Acres primary school , Ambrosden , and several sections within the depot .
