As reported in the RAOC Gazette (Jan 1993, p. 429) "On the final day of the RSM's handover all the permanent staff were invited to the Corporals Mess for drinks and a curry lunch, where the RSM said his final farewells, during which a few presentations were made, One of which was RSM Goodeve presenting his pace stick to Lieutenant Corporal Britton who is the last DGOS Lance Corporal.
