V Dear Lieut Col W. H. J. Gillow . MBE late RAOC xxx Ext 110 Re the enclosed photos - will you fill in the names etc for me pl ? incl some of the NCOs and / or men . The photo received from ex SQMS MacCormick is , by his letter , one of a parade held in 1932. What it is the first parade of , or for , I do not know . I gather that Mac is not so well and that his memory is not what it was . 29 Aul 63 rank However , without telling this to anyone , could you get some " gen " on the occasion for me ? The senior officer is undoubtedly Colonel ( ? Brigadier ) TBA Leahy , with ? Eagles and A. H. Allen following behind looking at the ranks . As only Allen was stationed at Didcot in 1932 what was the reason for the parade ? Was it 1932 ? It is not so much for the present that I want the info as for the future . Sorry to trouble you but I hope you have the info at hand . Yours Major D. G. Ridout , RAOC . COD Didcot . Berks . 2400 not |
