Sand bar, Mersa Matruh harbour: van taking rations to R.A. at Fort Brocket slipped off the causeway at high water and a breakdown lorry, which was sent to retrieve it, also became bogged. One of black and white photographs of 'A' Section RASC in the Egyptian and Palestine emergencies. The photographs have been mounted on card with descriptions written below. Another nine photographs (six with accession numbers D3/3384-3389, one with its caption scribbled out - now numbered NNA/0480 - and two captioned 'Sudan 1934' - now numbered NNA/0481) were found mounted and captioned in the same style, evidently for an exhibition, for which there is a title board 'Egyptian and Palestine Emergency 1936: 'A' Section R.A.S.C., No 19 Company R.A.S.C., No 5 Company R.A.S.C.'.
