Transcription Yours for ever , penfriend Sally
TWO penfriends brought together by the Daily Mail's coverage of the Gulf War provided a romantic post script at the weekend .
Secretary Sally Lands and Lance Corporal Steven Lock are pictured smiling in the sunshine after their wedding . Sally , 25 ,
30 .
from Westcliff - on - Sea , Essex , picked out Steven's name after joining a penpal scheme to help boost troops ' morale during last year's conflict .
She had read every word of the Daily Mail's frontline reports and was determined to lift his spirits while he served with the 6th Ord nance Battalion . And when they
met after the Allied victory , she presented him with all the back copies of the Mail covering the
war .
Steven , from Weymouth , Dor set , said : ' She was able to tell me more about the war than I could ever find out in the desert ! '
The couple will live at Bicester ,
Oxfordshire , where Steven , also 25 , is based . This is the best day of my life , ' said Sally after the wedding at St Mary's Church , Prittlewell , Essex .
During the service the vicar mentioned the Mail and in his speech Steven said , " If you don't know how we met , read the Daily Mail " . "
